Sarah is a licensed professional counselor and certified trauma professional in IL.
Have you tried therapy before and it wasn’t the right “fit?” Or maybe you’ve hesitated because opening up to a stranger can be scary! Sarah’s lived experience allows her to connect with clients in a way that feels comfortable and validating. One of her favorite compliments from clients is “you just GET me!”
Sarah holds a bachelors degree in Psychology and a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a psychology “nerd” she enjoys staying up to date with current mental health research and creating treatment plans that are individualized to each unique client.
Sarah’s therapeutic style is highly relational, nonjudgmental, and empathetic. Sessions look different based upon each client and their needs, but some interventions she might incorporate are:
● assessments (diagnostic, career or personality)
● mindfulness and somatic exercises
● worksheets/“homework” between sessions
● structured skills learning (ex: DBT)
● creative writing/art therapy
Sarah has additional training in autism spectrum disorders. She is neurodiversity & LGBTQ+ affirming.
